  • The great composer Franz Schubert spent his entire life in his native city of Vienna. He was born in a townhouse in the 9th district — known today as Schubert Geburtshaus — and died in his brother Ferdinand’s apartment at the young age of 31.

The site has always been a place of pilgrimage for Schubert’s admirers from all over the world. It showcases the composer’s last musical drafts, historical documents related to his death, and his final handwritten letter.
